Software Engineer Intern - Fall 2026

About the role#

As a Software Engineer Intern at StackAdapt, you will contribute directly to the development of our advertising platform. You will produce production-level code that impacts our product's success, working with large datasets and modern technology stacks. You will work within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team.

What you'll do#

• Take ownership of product solutions by utilizing various systems and technologies.
• Build new product capabilities and enhance existing features for internal and external users.
• Solve complex technical problems and write scalable, efficient software.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to advance the product.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical architecture, design documentation, and technical issue resolution.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or similar post-secondary program.
• Previous internship experience building full-stack web applications using Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of full-stack technologies including Ruby on Rails, React, Redux, JavaScript, Material UI, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Strong understanding of scalable system design for web-based APIs and backend processing systems.
• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and code optimization.
• Experience working with relational databases and key-value stores.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Ability to identify and address technical debt to maintain code quality.

• Compensation: $35—$55 CAD per hour.
