MT MLT STUDENT - LAB - STAFF SUPPORT

About the role#

This position supports the laboratory team by performing moderately complex or waived testing under the authorization of the laboratory medical director. Students are responsible for the preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic phases of testing, including patient identification, specimen handling, and the documentation of quality control and corrective action activities.

What you'll do#

• Perform testing as assigned while ensuring proper specimen handling and reporting.
• Assess and verify the validity of patient test results by evaluating quality control sample values.
• Monitor reagent stability, storage, and equipment maintenance.
• Operate laboratory equipment including analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and incubators.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Medical Technology program.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, meeting Federal Register section 493.1423 personnel requirements.
• Completion of clinical rotations in Chemistry, Hematology, or Urinalysis is preferred.
• Ability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
