Data Development Intern

About the role#

Sparksoft is seeking a Data Development Intern for a 3-month engagement focused on building health quality measures. Working with the Snowflake data platform, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world development projects. This role supports health quality outcomes and offers mentorship to accelerate your technical and professional growth.

What you'll do#

• Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to support health quality measure development.
• Build and maintain data transformations and logic within the Snowflake platform.
• Support the design and implementation of data models aligned with reporting requirements.
• Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure output accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to translate technical requirements into functional solutions.
• Document technical processes, data definitions, and development decisions.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to an agile, collaborative environment.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL, including writing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, including command-line navigation and basic scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehousing concepts.
• Understanding of data modeling and transformation principles.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly within a team.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
