Medical Assistant Student - Scholarship

About the role#

This position offers full funding for a Medical Assistant training program at a selected Anchorage college or university. The program leads to a national certification and subsequent employment as a Medical Assistant at Southcentral Foundation. Participants must commit to a service obligation agreement following the completion of their training.

What you'll do#

• Attend an approved Medical Assistant training program, choosing from day, evening, or traditional associate degree options.
• Pass a national Medical Assistant certifying exam.
• Complete monthly skill-building activities at Southcentral Foundation in addition to your coursework.
• Maintain consistent attendance and good academic standing as required by your educational institution.
• Transition into a medical assistant role within a Southcentral Foundation clinic upon certification.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to maintain good academic status throughout the program.
• Willingness to comply with all employee health screenings and required immunizations, including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19.
• Agreement to a post-training service obligation.
