About the role#
Service Parts engineering interns support the team responsible for providing replacement part solutions for aging equipment. This role focuses on components including electric motors, valves, pump and motor assemblies, fan assemblies, heat exchangers, and engine handling lift equipment. Interns assist with technical documentation, design support, and field inquiries.
What you'll do#
- Define part and assembly designs, create drawings, and conduct dimensional reviews.
- Collaborate with suppliers to define replacement parts or assemblies.
- Validate safe working load requirements and hazardous area certification requirements.
- Define kits to bridge form, fit, and function differences, including installation instructions and bills of material.
- Manage technical questions from the field and support documentation.
- Perform part and assembly modeling as required.
- Maintain certification tables in ERP systems and evaluate part certification status.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year or advanced STEM degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or Physics).
- Classification as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or a Senior planning to attend graduate school.
- An overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
