Government Affairs Intern

About the role#

The Government Affairs team manages relationships with government and political leaders across the globe, from Capitol Hill to federal agencies and local governments. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to policy strategy during a pivotal period for AI regulation. You will gain firsthand experience in how a technology company navigates the evolving political landscape and engages with policymakers.

What you'll do#

• Support high-visibility engagements with congressional leaders, federal stakeholders, and state and local officials, including briefing preparation and meeting logistics.
• Assist in building and maintaining relationships with state and local leaders to support initiatives on data modernization and AI adoption.
• Monitor and synthesize developments in AI legislation, data privacy regulation, and technology governance to produce actionable briefs for internal stakeholders.
• Help plan and staff Snowflake's presence at political and policy events, industry convenings, and government-facing forums.
• Gain experience in stakeholder mapping, policy research, and strategic communications.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited university or graduate program, ideally as a rising senior or first-year master's student.
• Academic background in Public Policy, Political Science, Government, International Relations, Law, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Required coursework in public policy, government/politics, or technology policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technology and policy topics into clear narratives.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a high-stakes environment.
