About the role#
The Zoning Practice Group at Snell & Wilmer is seeking an intern for our Phoenix office. This paid position involves 20 hours of work per week with a flexible, in-office schedule Monday through Friday, designed to accommodate academic commitments. You will gain exposure to land development processes, governmental staff interactions, and various municipal ordinances and general plans.
What you'll do#
- Research and review property entitlements.
- Coordinate appointments with governmental representatives.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of rezoning, site plan, zoning adjustment, and other land use entitlement applications.
- Manage project timelines and track tasks and deliverables.
- Maintain digital and physical project records and manage electronic filing of correspondence.
- Respond to professional inquiries via phone and email.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a bachelor’s program, or enrollment in a master’s degree program, in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Sustainability, or a closely related field.
- A basic understanding of common principles, practices, and methods used in Urban Planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
