About the role#
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will join the team to design, develop, and evolve our in-house selection and quoting tool, the Smardt Portal. This is a hands-on technical internship where you will own the software development lifecycle from planning and design through to testing and deployment. You will work on continuous improvements to the current platform while developing the Smardt Portal 2.0, partnering with Engineering and Sales to deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
What you'll do#
- Contribute directly to development activities by delivering high-quality features and enhancements.
- Lead the development of the Smardt Portal 2.0 while maintaining ongoing improvements to the current platform.
- Ensure the timely delivery of system enhancements, software fixes, and new capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively with backend and frontend developers to ensure cohesive technical solutions through pairing and code reviews.
- Oversee the intake, prioritization, and resolution of smardtDesk and GITHUB tickets related to the portal.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional technical solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Cybersecurity.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Strong foundational skills in Python, with experience in Django considered an asset.
- Practical knowledge of frontend development and modern user interface frameworks.
- Experience with code reviews and a commitment to engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with business logic, rule-based systems, or relational database modeling is an asset.

- Modality: This is a 100% on-site role requiring daily attendance at our facility.
