This SkillBridge Engineering program provides transitioning service members with structured training to support deployments of the Shift5 platform across defense and commercial environments. The program focuses on education, observation, and mission exposure to prepare participants for a career supporting national security programs.
What you'll do#
- Execute and support the physical and logical integration of complex hardware-software platforms.
- Assist senior engineers with the installation, configuration, and diagnostics of electromechanical systems and specialized hardware.
- Partner with Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineering teams to gain exposure to the full product lifecycle, from prototyping to field implementation.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators related to hardware reliability, system uptime, and integration success.
- Identify opportunities to improve technical documentation, assembly checklists, and installation workflows.
- Contribute to the development of standardized engineering toolkits and deployment manuals.
- Gain experience navigating specialized environments such as manufacturing floors, secure facilities, and transit hubs.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a transitioning service member eligible for the SkillBridge program.
- Academic background in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, remote position with rolling start dates.
- Travel is required for field operations.
