    About the role#

    The Shell Assessed Internship Programme offers engineering students the opportunity to gain real-world experience within the energy industry. Interns are immersed in Shell’s operations and culture, working on meaningful projects that align with their academic background and interests. This programme is designed to help students develop professional skills, receive regular performance feedback, and determine if a future career at Shell is the right fit. Top-performing interns may be considered for future return internships or the Shell Graduate Programme.

    What you'll do#

    • Work on real projects that align with your academic studies and personal interests.
    • Collaborate effectively within a team and influence others to achieve project goals.
    • Receive regular feedback and performance assessments to support your professional growth.
    • Work under the guidance of a dedicated supervisor and mentor throughout the duration of your internship.
    • Engage with Shell’s operations and internal culture.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a university Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20.
    • At least one more semester of education remaining following the completion of your internship.
    • Legal entitlement to work in Canada via Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit.
    • Ability to successfully complete Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug tests if selected for a safety-sensitive position.
    • A drive for innovation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

    Location & details#

    • Locations: Calgary, Alberta or Fort Saskatchewan (Scotford), Alberta.
    • Start Date: September 2026.
    • Term Duration: 4, 8, 12, or 16 months.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship with competitive salary and pay progressions for longer terms.
