This internship supports the development and integration of advanced optical technologies into healthcare solutions. Working at our Ann Arbor site, you will contribute to platforms used in fundamental research, as well as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. This is a full-time, paid position with a potential duration of up to ten months.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute experiments under guidance.
- Gather and analyze data, perform cell studies using various optical modalities, and report findings.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to understand the applications of emerging technologies.
- Contribute to the design and validation of analytical tools.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support R&D efforts and the integration of optical solutions.
What you'll need#
- MS, PhD, or current enrollment in a PhD program in Bioengineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in cell culture, with a preference for 3D culture.
- Prior experience with iPSC differentiation and characterization.
- Hands-on experience with advanced optical analytical tools such as Light Sheet, Confocal, Raman, or Multiphoton Fluorescence.
- Experience in systematic experimentation and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments, including leadership experience in academic or professional settings.
