    About the role#

    The Federal Affairs team at Salt River Project represents the company before the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, Federal agencies, and the White House. This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in public policy advocacy regarding energy and water-related issues. You will work from the Washington, D.C. office, supporting the team with legislative research, event coordination, and administrative tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Attend Congressional hearings and document key takeaways.
    • Research Federal legislation to produce written summaries and reports.
    • Monitor relevant media stories.
    • Participate in events alongside the Federal Affairs team.
    • Assist with event planning, administrative support, and general office duties.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program, or enrollment in graduate or law school.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • A minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours per semester.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work independently in an in-office setting.
    • A strong interest in energy and water policy challenges.
    • Preferred majors include Political Science, International Relations, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or Communications.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Washington, D.C.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid.
    • Schedule: 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with optional Fridays depending on the Congressional schedule.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
    • Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not provided.
