The Associate Educator for Teacher and Student Learning leads initiatives to engage early childhood, K-12, and college audiences. This role develops interdisciplinary programs and resources that align with the museum's strategic priorities. The position involves supervising staff, managing budgets, and collaborating across departments to support educational outreach.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement strategies to increase and enhance student engagement.
- Oversee the training of Gallery Teachers and assist in the training and evaluation of volunteer educators.
- Lead outreach efforts to regional schools, including administrators, teachers, and students.
- Create a Teacher Advisory Group and implement evaluation instruments to assess program impact.
- Manage the Museum’s Student Gallery, including the planning of 2-3 exhibitions annually.
- Present programs, lead tours, and represent the museum at off-site conferences and educational events.
What you'll need#
- Master’s degree in art history, art education, studio art, museum studies, or a related discipline.
- Three or more years of professional museum education or K-12 teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability in object-based teaching and knowledge of diverse learning styles.
- Excellent public speaking and writing skills.
- Proficiency with virtual program delivery.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Location & details#
- Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
- Status: Full-time, on-site.
- Salary: $60,561 - $74,188 per year.
