College Student Instructor

About the role#

The College Student Instructor role at Sage Oak Charter Schools supports middle school students by providing instruction and monitoring academic progress. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in higher education to share their academic background through an 8-week virtual course. The role requires a blend of independent work, curriculum design, and direct student interaction.

What you'll do#

• Design and implement an engaging 8-week virtual course curriculum aligned with your college major or area of study.
• Deliver live virtual lessons to middle school students using multimedia resources and interactive activities.
• Foster a positive learning environment, encourage student participation, and provide academic support.
• Coordinate logistics for an end-of-course college campus tour for participating students.
• Document and report formal disciplinary actions to school management.
• Maintain professional communication with students, parents, and staff, responding to correspondence within 24 business hours.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college or university program as a sophomore or higher.
• Academic background in Psychology, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, Business Administration, Political Science, English, or Media Studies.
• Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and tools, including Zoom, Canvas, and Google Suite.
• Strong computer and technology literacy.
• Ability to pass state and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan).
• Proof of a clear TB Tine test dated within the last 60 days.
