As a Transfer Pricing Intern, you will support the planning and execution of cross-border tax matters. You will work closely with senior members of the Cross Border Tax Team to assist Canadian companies operating abroad and foreign companies investing in Canada, contributing to both ongoing and transactional client mandates.
What you'll do#
- Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
- Develop financial models using Excel for transfer pricing and tax planning purposes.
- Conduct technical tax research on withholding taxes, corporate tax rates, tax treaties, case law, customs, and duties assessments.
- Perform industry and comparable company research.
- Prepare corporate tax filings such as T2s and foreign reporting/disclosures.
- Draft deliverables for clients, including technical reports, memos, transaction flow diagrams, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Contribute to internal technical presentations and team learning initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Goal Seek, PivotTables).
- Solid accounting and mathematics knowledge.
- Participation in capstone projects and case competitions.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, IBISWorld, S&P Capital IQ, CaseWare, or TaxPrep is considered an asset.
- CPA track is preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
