About the role#
Richter is seeking an intern to join the Canadian Restructuring team for a four-month term. This role provides exposure to high-impact, real-world cases and offers direct mentorship from senior professionals in the restructuring field.
What you'll do#
- Analyze financial data, accounting records, and financial models.
- Assess business plans, forecasts, and the financial positions of distressed companies.
- Prepare weekly cash flow models, integrated cash flow models, and scenario analyses.
- Support the execution of formal restructuring mandates, including receiverships, proposals, and bankruptcies.
- Prepare formal reports for stakeholders, creditors, and the courts.
- Manage multiple engagements and timelines concurrently.
- Prepare liquidation analyses, take possession of assets when necessary, and manage sales processes for the disposition of distressed assets.
- Participate in practice development and build relationships with business executives, insolvency lawyers, and other key stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements, with familiarity in insolvency concepts considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
