About the role#
The Region of Waterloo is seeking a Student Library Page for a temporary position based in Wilmot, Ontario. This role supports the daily operations of the library by maintaining collections and assisting visitors with circulation tasks and technology.
What you'll do#
- Shelve library materials accurately using the Dewey Decimal system and other organizational methods.
- Manage the circulation of books, periodicals, and audio/visual materials, including processing reserves.
- Register new members and provide notifications regarding overdue items and requested materials.
- Assist library patrons with technology, including the library catalogue, e-books, and basic device troubleshooting.
- Support staff with the preparation of library displays, programs, and events.
- Perform minor cleaning and repairs on library materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student and at least 15 years of age.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with diverse community members.
- General knowledge of library resources and operations gained through personal use, volunteering, or work experience.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to use office software and troubleshoot hardware or software issues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending and reaching while shelving materials.

- Hours: Up to 6 hours per week.
