Dev Ops Engineer (12-month Co-op)

About the role#

This 12-month co-op position offers the opportunity to join a lean DevOps team responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure. You will work within the research and development department to develop tools and workflows that improve build and release efficiencies. Reporting to a Team Lead, you will gain hands-on experience across the entire software delivery lifecycle while collaborating with various internal teams.

What you'll do#

• Develop and maintain cloud deployment pipelines and workflows.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Write scripts to automate operational tasks and system integrations.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Chef.
• Write and maintain monitoring scripts and tools to ensure system health and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to define requirements and implement efficient deployment strategies.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Software), Computer Science, or Data Science.
• Foundational understanding of cloud-based technologies such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python, or comparable tools.
• Demonstrated experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with GitOps/IaC practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to multitask in an agile environment.
• Initiative to communicate effectively, ask questions, and engage in continuous learning.
