Mechanical Engineering Intern

About the role#

This internship offers hands-on experience with mechanical systems, wash equipment, and fabrication assemblies. Over the course of a 3-4 month program, you will engage in engineering design, reverse engineering, and CAD modeling. The role concludes with a presentation to executive leadership summarizing your project results.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the design and improvement of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Develop and modify CAD models and detailed drawings, with a preference for SolidWorks.
• Support reverse engineering of equipment components to improve durability, cost, or manufacturability.
• Analyze mechanical performance and recommend design enhancements.
• Assist with process flow optimization and the creation of manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Design and execute test cases and document engineering recommendations.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least the second year in an accredited Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering program prior to the start of the internship.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• At least one semester or quarter of CAD coursework, preferably in SolidWorks.
• A demonstrated understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to commit to the full 3-4 month program.
