Academy Intern

About the role#

Qalam is seeking a detail-oriented intern or volunteer to support the Academy team, specifically for the Foundations program. This part-time role provides hands-on operational experience within a nonprofit setting and is suitable for students or individuals interested in contributing to educational initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Create and manage the Foundations program website and learning portal.
• Support instructors with course pacing and curriculum tracking.
• Maintain gradebooks and progress report documentation for each student.
• Manage instructor communication regarding scheduling and availability.
• Ideate and initiate student socials to foster community building.
• Host regular office hours to address student questions and concerns.
• Manage and respond to email inquiries.

What you'll need#

• Basic familiarity with learning portals and a willingness to learn new platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Passion for education and nonprofit work.
• Relevant academic background in Communications, Psychology, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
