The IT Help Desk Co-op will support the day-to-day technology needs of employees while gaining hands-on experience across a range of IT operations. This on-site role provides practical exposure to technical support, device management, user account administration, and technology projects. You will work closely with team members across the business, helping resolve technology issues and contributing to a positive employee experience.
What you'll do#
- Provide first-level support for technology-related questions and issues.
- Assist employees with hardware, software, and basic system troubleshooting.
- Support the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktops, tablets, and other devices.
- Help maintain inventory and records of IT equipment and technology assets.
- Assist with user account creation, updates, and access requests.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees.
- Participate in software testing and technology improvement initiatives.
- Document troubleshooting steps, actions taken, blockers, and resolutions within the help desk ticketing system.
- Document processes and create user-friendly technology guides.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Technology Management, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in a Co-op program.
- A strong interest in technology and problem-solving.
- Experience using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and common business applications.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia (On-site).
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per day).
- Term: 8 or 12 months with a potential opportunity to extend.
- Compensation: $20.25 per hour.
