Practicum Student - Education Programming

About the role#

The Capacity Building team is seeking a practicum student for the Fall 2026 term (September to December). This full-time, paid placement focuses on supporting the planning and coordination of educational programming, including both live and virtual professional development events. You will work with a team of Education Specialists, Events Specialists, and a Lead of Education Programming to advance public health and health workforce capacity.

What you'll do#

• Support the planning and coordination of educational programming activities.
• Assist in projects associated with PHO’s Strategic Direction #3, which aims to improve population health outcomes through workforce capacity and knowledge.
• Analyze evaluation findings and collaboratively develop reports to inform strategic planning.
• Contribute to the development of hands-on learning experiences and work-based opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen partnerships and connect the workforce to professional development.
• Produce tools and resources for program planning and evaluation, summarize evaluation findings in presentations, and host virtual events.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Master’s program that requires an experiential learning or practicum component.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong collaboration skills and an interest in working across different teams.
• Familiarity with or interest in evaluation projects, program planning, and event hosting.
• High attention to detail.

Location & details#

• Location: Toronto, ON (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September to December).
• Commitment: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week.
• Eligibility: Open to students currently residing in Ontario and attending a Canadian academic institution.
