About the role#
Primus Aerospace is seeking a Quality Intern to support the Quality Assurance team at our manufacturing facility. This role provides hands-on experience with quality systems, inspection processes, and continuous improvement initiatives within the aerospace industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the inspection of aerospace components using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Review manufacturing documentation, inspection reports, and quality records to ensure compliance with standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Participate in internal audits and quality system activities.
- Collect, analyze, and report on quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
- Investigate nonconforming materials and support root cause analysis activities.
- Assist with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation and First Article Inspection (FAI) records.
- Support the maintenance of calibration records and gauge tracking.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and observe production processes to identify quality improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Willingness to learn aerospace quality standards and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
