About the role#
Primary Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op Student to support our design services team. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Kelowna, British Columbia, operating on a rolling term basis.
What you'll do#
- Design and draft underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure using AutoCAD.
- Perform electrical and structural engineering calculations for underground and overhead systems.
- Attend site visits to assist with the planning and implementation of electrical utility designs.
- Compile material lists and project cost estimates.
- Create internal tools and processes to improve overall work efficiency.
- Track and advance multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communicate and obtain approvals from stakeholders, including electrical utilities, municipal authorities, and private clients.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary engineering degree or technologist diploma program.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and a drive for professional improvement.
- A Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical utility design standards, the Canadian Electrical Code, and software such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, AGi32, and MS Office is considered an asset.
