Electrical Engineering Co-op Student

About the role#

Primary Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op Student to support our design services team. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Kelowna, British Columbia, operating on a rolling term basis.

What you'll do#

• Design and draft underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure using AutoCAD.
• Perform electrical and structural engineering calculations for underground and overhead systems.
• Attend site visits to assist with the planning and implementation of electrical utility designs.
• Compile material lists and project cost estimates.
• Create internal tools and processes to improve overall work efficiency.
• Track and advance multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communicate and obtain approvals from stakeholders, including electrical utilities, municipal authorities, and private clients.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a post-secondary engineering degree or technologist diploma program.
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and a drive for professional improvement.
• A Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical utility design standards, the Canadian Electrical Code, and software such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, AGi32, and MS Office is considered an asset.
