2027 Returning Intern - Industrial Engineer

About the role#

This position is a returning internship opportunity for Summer 2027 within the Industrial Engineering department at Pratt & Whitney. The role is focused on operations, supply chain, and quality excellence, providing exposure to factory-level manufacturing challenges and leadership collaboration. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located in Tucson, Arizona.

What you'll do#

• Identify throughput constraints by performing capacity, simulation, and what-if scenario analysis.
• Drive factory improvement project priorities using analytical tools.
• Coordinate factory capability needs to support yield improvements and the implementation of new technology.
• Participate in improvement projects aimed at constraint elimination.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles, including value stream mapping, line balancing, and error proofing.
• Support manufacturing objectives related to cost, quality, on-time delivery, and safety.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering, Math, Science, Technology, or other STEM fields.
• Previous experience with Industrial Engineering processes and tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for this clearance.
