About the role#

This is a seasonal, paid internship with the Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing Division. Interns will support daily operations and marketing initiatives, working closely with staff on projects related to sales, recruitment, event logistics, and digital media. There are four positions available for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the setup and onsite operation of sporting events hosted throughout Polk County.
• Collaborate with event owners to ensure successful event execution.
• Support facility operations at various sports venues.
• Help marketing staff gather information and content for social media and promotional campaigns.
• Develop and organize administrative documents, reports, and general office projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, or graduation within the last 24 months, in Sports Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic communications, and internet research.
• Experience preparing presentations and managing social media content.
• Ability to research and create informational materials and promotional brochures.
• Capability to assist with the physical setup of sporting events and work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Location & details#

• Locations: Lake Myrtle Sports Park (Auburndale, FL) and the Welcome Center (Davenport, FL).
• Term: August 24, 2026, through December 14, 2026.
• Schedule: 20 to 40 hours per week, including availability from Monday through Sunday.
