About the role#
The Student Finance Officer manages financial aid processes at the Mesa campus. This full-time position involves guiding students through funding options, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate financial documentation to support student enrollment.
What you'll do#
- Interview prospective students to assess financial needs and determine aid eligibility.
- Assist students with completing financial aid forms and coordinate required signatures.
- Maintain student files to ensure all financial aid documentation is accurate and complete.
- Counsel veteran students and ensure compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs and State Approving Agency guidelines.
- Track ISIRs for current and future students and complete verification for selected records.
- Establish private pay repayment plans and contact former students with outstanding balances.
- Audit future start files to ensure all awards and forms are properly documented.
- Enter data regarding packaging, fund releases, and loan application statuses into institutional systems.
What you'll need#
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong customer-service focus.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and video-conferencing tools.
- Ability to maintain access to Department of Education systems.
- Three years of financial aid experience, including knowledge of Title IV funding, is preferred.
- An associate degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Mesa, Arizona (Dobson/Southern campus).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour.
