This is a four-month, full-time internship within the Editions department, beginning August 31, 2026, and ending December 18, 2026. The role offers insight into the daily operations of a specialist department, with a focus on Modern and Contemporary Prints and Multiples. Interns will receive training in internal systems and research procedures to contribute directly to the team during the pre-sale period for October auctions.
What you'll do#
- Assist the department with organizational tasks throughout the pre-sale process.
- Conduct research projects on specific artists and galleries, utilizing the Phillips Editions library and NYC libraries.
- Write academic and engaging essays for online content to support upcoming sales.
- Track and record auction sale details and results.
- Assist with digital filing, managing the department consignment inbox, and formatting information for proposal documents.
- Learn to use print catalogue raisonnés.
- Participate in auction-day roles for sales across all departments.
- Monitor internal channels for editing deadlines and status updates.
What you'll need#
- Current college students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or recent college graduates with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Art, Communications, or History.
- A passion for fine art, with a specific interest in Prints, Multiples, and Works on Paper.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (On-site at the Park Avenue office).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with flexibility required for evenings and weekends during sale deadlines.
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
