Co-Op Actuarial Student

About the role#

Robertson, Eadie & Associates is seeking a Co-Op Actuarial Student for the Fall 2026 term, running from September through December. This full-time, hybrid position is based in Burlington, Ontario. You will work alongside qualified actuaries and professionals on a variety of assignments, gaining hands-on experience in pension consulting while receiving actuarial exam support.

What you'll do#

• Assist with daily administrative tasks, including the calculation of pension benefits and the preparation of client documentation.
• Prepare actuarial valuations of pension plans from first principles with guidance from experienced professionals.
• Support regulatory processes, such as preparing year-end pension statements, annual information returns, and quarterly pension adjustment reversals.
• Draft professional reports and correspondence.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a university program for Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
• Actively writing Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) exams.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and MS Office skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and work both independently and within a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sensitivity to confidential information.
• Knowledge of actuarial valuation software, such as ProVal, is considered an asset.

• Compensation: $23.00 – $25.50 per hour.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September – December).
