About the role#
As a Software Support Intern, you will join a team responsible for driving customer knowledge, adoption, and loyalty. This part-time position involves providing technical support in a response-oriented environment. You will assist customers with the proper use of the PCS proprietary platform and handle inquiries via phone, email, and chat. This role requires a calm demeanor, clear communication skills, and the ability to maintain a professional customer service experience during stressful events.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers with the proper use of the PCS platform via phone or email.
- Troubleshoot Level 1 and Level 2 software problems reported by end users.
- Manage help desk tickets daily to meet service level agreement requirements.
- Participate in the technical software support team to resolve platform issues.
- Stay current on all PCS Software product features.
- Work flexible shifts between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. with potential on-call duties on weekends and holidays.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering bachelor's or master's degree program.
- Experience troubleshooting technical software problems in a help desk or support team environment.
- Experience with high-volume calls and chats.
- Experience working within a customer-facing team of 5 to 10 members.
- Ability to communicate effectively to understand and document customer requirements.
- Knowledge of basic .NET development (C#, VB.Net, or ASP.Net) is preferred.
- Ability to provide clear oral and written communication.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Modality: Hybrid. Work is performed remotely, but candidates must be available to work onsite at the west Houston office every Wednesday and Thursday.
- Schedule: Part-time (20 to 25 hours per week). Training occurs during daytime hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the first 8 weeks.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Candidates must be local to the Houston metro area, possess reliable transportation, and have existing legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
