Intern, Emerging Scholars

About the role#

The Emerging Scholars internship provides students with mentoring and practical, hands-on experience related to their field of study. Interns work under direct supervision to apply academic knowledge to real-world projects and professional activities.

What you'll do#

• Assist the department with assigned projects and complete challenging tasks.
• Relate and apply academic knowledge to current work assignments.
• Prepare for and utilize learning opportunities provided by the department.
• Provide management with periodic progress updates.
• Adhere to all staff policies, procedures, and rules regarding professional behavior and the handling of confidential information.
• Maintain punctuality and consistency in the submission of all work.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active enrollment at a regionally accredited college or university.
• Completion of at least 30 credit hours of college coursework, or 50% of an applicable trade or certificate program.
• A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be 18 years of age or older on the first day of employment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stooping, bending, and reaching.
