Actuarial Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

Pacific Life Re is recruiting Actuarial Interns for the Fall 2026 term to work within our Toronto-based teams. Interns will be assigned to one of several focus areas, including Actuarial Analytics & Insight, Protection Valuation, Capital, Research & Development, Enterprise Actuarial Projects, or Protection Pricing. This program includes product training, mentorship from an executive, hands-on actuarial projects, and rotational events to provide exposure to various departments.

What you'll do#

• Support quarterly and annual valuation and financial reporting activities.
• Perform valuation model spot-checks under various accounting and regulatory bases.
• Contribute to the development of key assumptions through the analysis of internal and external data.
• Participate in various investigations and collaborate with global teams across Europe, Asia, and Australia.
• Support pricing projects and quotes under the guidance of senior actuarial team members.
• Assist with reserve sensitivities, scenario testing, and the maintenance of pricing models and tools.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least 1 Society of Actuaries exam.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or Physics.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• A strong desire to gain professional experience in the actuarial field.
