The Student CNC Operator position provides students with hands-on machinist experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work with equipment such as Mori-Seiki and Okuma CNC lathes and vertical mills to gain practical skills in a professional setting.
What you'll do#
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to complete precision machining tasks under guidance.
- Learn to read technical drawings and work instructions.
- Observe machining processes to learn programming and tooling concepts.
- Follow all shop safety rules and machine guarding requirements.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current high school senior or enrolled in a CNC programming, machining, or robotics school program.
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hands-on environment with shifting priorities.
