Summer Internship Opportunity- Endoscopy Technician

About the role#

Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for a paid, full-time summer internship for the 2026 term. This on-site role supports the endoscopy center by maintaining equipment, assisting with medical procedures, and providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

What you'll do#

• Prepare procedure rooms and assist physicians, nurses, and CRNAs with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is tested, functioning properly, and maintained according to safety standards.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and accessories, including managing endoscopic washers.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care, including gathering initial information, recording vital signs, and assisting with patient discharge.
• Manage inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and restock procedure rooms and carts.
• Perform electronic charting and document interventions accurately.
• Adhere to strict infection control principles and universal precautions.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to perform heavy work, including moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Preferred: Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician program.
• Students pursuing degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or Health Administration are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime.

• This position is based on-site in Columbus, Dublin, and Pickerington, Ohio.
• This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship.
