Software Engineering Intern

About the role#

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be embedded within an engineering team to build systems and experiences that support millions of buyers and sellers. You will write production code that real users depend on and participate in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. From the start, you will own meaningful engineering tasks, pair with senior engineers, and utilize modern AI tools to contribute to the team's goals.

What you'll do#

• Design, build, and ship production features that reach real users.
• Take ownership of a defined problem from design through delivery.
• Develop and improve services, APIs, and experiences that power the platform.
• Investigate open-ended problems, prototype solutions, and turn technical spikes into actionable recommendations.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to turn requirements into well-tested features.
• Write tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure systems remain observable and maintainable.
• Present your work and findings to the broader engineering and product teams at the end of the internship.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with plans to return to school following the internship.
• Familiarity with Java or a similar programming language.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, databases, APIs, or distributed systems.
• Experience with two-sided marketplaces, mobile apps, or large-scale consumer products is a plus.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants in your daily workflow.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Mathematics.

• Term: Summer 2026.
• Modality: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office).
• Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
