Student Intern, Analytics and Business Intelligence - Casual Temporary (Until Approx. Dec 2026)

About the role#

Oak Valley Health is seeking a Student Intern to join the Analytics and Business Intelligence team. This casual, temporary position supports hospital operations by providing exposure to various hospital data sets and analytical tools. The role involves working alongside an experienced team of analysts and developers to improve data quality, automate processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Convert existing SAS reference code to SQL or Python for CIHI and Ministry indicators and metrics.
• Design and develop Power BI dashboards.
• Automate manual data processes and develop data quality checks.
• Manage the execution and tracking of department continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document data dictionaries and internal processes to support optimization.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least the second year of a Computer Science, Engineering, or Healthcare Analytics program.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated initiative for self-learning and innovation.

Location & details#

• Location: Markham, Ontario.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, days, on a casual basis.
• Term: Summer 2027.
• Status: Paid, full-time equivalent hours (casual temporary until approximately December 2026).
