Software Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will join our engineering team to help build and maintain a fast, reliable, and secure experience for millions of users. During this 12-week internship, you will be paired with a mentor to collaborate on AI-native projects that drive impact for our customers and internal engineering teams.

What you'll do#

• Write clean, secure, tested, and documented code.
• Design and enhance the product with new capabilities, maintaining an AI-first mindset.
• Develop, fix, and debug software across our full stack, including web services, databases, applications, and internal tools.
• Leverage modern frameworks and tooling to solve complex technical challenges.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date before Summer 2027.
• Previous internship experience.
• Working proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
• Ability to decompose complex problems, adapt to changing priorities, and communicate nuanced technical ideas clearly.
• Experience or strong interest in building with AI technologies like LLMs and embeddings.

Location & details#

• This internship is scheduled from September 14 to December 4.
• You will be based in our San Francisco office.
• Notion requires team members to work from the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days). Additional in-office days may be required depending on the team.
