LGSW Clinical Trainee or Intern

About the role#

Norway Health Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated LGSW Clinical Trainee or Intern to provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. This role focuses on supporting the mental health needs of diverse populations while developing clinical skills under supervision. This is a paid, on-site position located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with flexible scheduling options.

What you'll do#

• Conduct comprehensive assessments under supervision to determine client needs and inform treatment planning.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Collaborate with clients and supervisors to create individualized treatment plans that address specific mental health needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of client sessions, treatment goals, and progress notes in accordance with agency and training standards.
• Coordinate care by collaborating with other healthcare providers, social workers, and community resources to ensure integrated care.
• Participate in supervised crisis intervention and adhere to professional ethical guidelines.
• Manage therapy schedules and facilitate communication between clients and the care team.
• Engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral program in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field.
• For interns: Completion of practicum or internship hours as part of an MSW program.
• For trainees: Working toward independent licensure under supervision (e.g., LICSW).
• Strong communication, empathy, cultural humility, and adaptability skills.
• A commitment to culturally responsive care and an awareness of systemic inequities.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and balance multiple responsibilities.
