As a Marina Attendant with Norfolk County, you will support the operations of the Port Dover Harbour Marina. This role involves maintaining facilities, assisting boaters, and ensuring the marina remains safe and welcoming for visitors throughout the season. This is a full-time, on-site student position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Perform facility maintenance, including cleaning washrooms, showers, and office areas, as well as general landscaping tasks like grass cutting and weed eating.
- Conduct daily, monthly, and seasonal inspections and maintain accurate records of work activities and equipment checks.
- Assist boaters with docking, casting off, and fueling procedures, while ensuring compliance with TSSA regulations.
- Collect and monitor revenue from fuel docks, ramp fees, and ice sales.
- Set up and take down equipment for special events and assist with general site cleanup, including litter and debris removal.
- Perform labor-intensive tasks such as climbing, lifting, and scrubbing docks in various outdoor weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in high school, university, or college.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical labor outdoors.
- Previous experience in janitorial, horticulture, landscaping, carpentry, or boating is considered an asset.
- Boaters Operating Card License and Standard First Aid with CPR Level C are preferred.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
