The Campus Chapter Intern (CCI) represents NMDP on campus at either the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) or San Diego State University (SDSU). This role focuses on establishing or maintaining a registered student organization to drive education, recruitment, and fundraising efforts in support of the NMDP mission. Interns work with regional teams to mobilize students, with a specific focus on engaging diverse student populations.
What you'll do#
- Lead chapter operations by advising student leadership toward organizational goals and serving as acting president when necessary.
- Establish and staff consistent tabling opportunities to maintain on-campus visibility.
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and campus partners.
- Collaborate with student organizations and event organizers to expand outreach and recruitment.
- Plan and execute one campus-wide Member Education and Registration event per semester, including logistics and volunteer coordination.
- Deliver weekly presentations to educate and recruit prospective registry members.
- Participate in weekly check-ins with the regional territory team and attend required program calls.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at UCSB or SDSU with at least 30 hours of completed coursework.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- A demonstrated belief in and commitment to the NMDP mission.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, staff, and university administrators.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks alongside academic commitments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Preferred majors include Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, Sociology, Public Health, Human Resources, Psychology, or Marketing.
