    About the role#

    The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Administrative Analyst to join the Community Investment & Economic Revitalization office. This role involves analytical, evaluative, and interpretive work to support department financial decisions and environmental policy initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in facilitating and coordinating department financial decisions to support agency priorities.
    • Analyze environmental policies, grants, and loans to develop criteria for consistent resource allocation.
    • Compile tools and strategies to proactively identify areas in need of assistance.
    • Develop and identify government funding guidance for entities supporting environmental improvement.
    • Utilize GIS and other computer applications to support the unification of financial resources.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR four years of professional experience in analytical, evaluative, and interpretive roles.
    • Strong organization, coordination, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
    • Ability to analyze and translate complex information into equitable impact.
    • Strong writing and communication skills.
    • GIS aptitude and a willingness to explore new computer applications.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Trenton, New Jersey.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $22 per hour.
    • Work Schedule: Up to 35 hours per week, with a maximum of 944 hours per fiscal year.
    • Residency: New Jersey residency is required within one year of employment date per the New Jersey First Act.
    • Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not provided.
