About the role#
As a Coop Student at Nebraska Machinery Company, you will participate in a sponsorship program designed to combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience. This role includes paid tuition for an approved Diesel Technology program, as well as coverage for books, required fees, and tools. You will receive competitive hourly pay while working in our shops and gain mentorship from experienced technicians.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced technicians diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment.
- Assist with inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in both shop and field environments.
- Learn Caterpillar systems, diagnostics, and industry-leading repair techniques.
- Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally at work, school, and within the community.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or graduation prior to the program start.
- Enrollment or plans to enroll in an NMC-approved Diesel Technology program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
- An interest in solving problems and working with your hands.
- The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, a strong attendance record, and a positive attitude.
- The intent to pursue a long-term career with the company after graduation.
