About the role#
This position offers high school students hands-on experience within a school-based bank branch. You will develop financial literacy, customer service, and workplace skills while working under the supervision of experienced bank staff. This role is designed as a structured learning environment where you will contribute to branch operations and complete assigned projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with basic customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and account inquiries under direct supervision.
- Provide customer service to students and customers, including greeting visitors, answering questions, and promoting financial literacy.
- Support administrative duties including maintaining records, preparing forms, and organizing branch materials.
- Exhibit professional telephone and communication skills when interacting with clients.
- Work closely with experienced staff to complete assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in good academic and attendance standing.
- Must be a student in or entering their junior year or above.
- Basic PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, basic math skills, and attention to detail.
- Customer service experience or participation in school activities is preferred.
- Valid identification for I-9 employment eligibility and valid working papers at the time of hire.
Location & details#
- Location: Norwich, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site at the in-school branch or other local branches.
- Salary: $17 to $17.75 per hour.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation may be required. Employment is subject to federal and state youth employment laws, including restrictions on hours worked.
