Clinical Intern, Specialty Pharmacy

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid summer 2026 internship based on-site in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Intern, you will support patient care by providing education on specialty medications and disease states. You will work closely with an experiential learning team, including pharmacists and nurses, to optimize therapy outcomes and ensure the appropriate use of high-cost medications.

What you'll do#

• Provide patient education through telephonic consultations regarding disease state management, side effect mitigation, medication administration, and storage.
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation of patient consultations and interventions within the pharmacy software system, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Communicate with physicians and nurses to address pharmaceutical questions, manage prescription transfers, and coordinate new prescriptions.
• Conduct evidence-based research and interpret clinical data to support the clinical outcomes research program.
• Document and report medication errors in accordance with company policies and quality standards.
• Stay current with advancements in specialty pharmacy therapies and participate in assigned training and mentoring opportunities.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successfully completed the second year of an ACPE accredited pharmacy school or college of pharmacy curriculum.
• Current and active Intern Registration/License in Arizona.
• Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
• Pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.

• Location: 9185 E. Pima Center Pkwy. STE 200, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Modality: On-site.
• Term: Summer 2026.
