About the role#
The EHS Intern will support the environmental, health, and safety department with daily administrative tasks and operational activities. This role provides exposure to regulatory compliance, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, DNR, and DOL standards. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety and Compliance to support continual improvement initiatives.
- Develop, create, and present safety awareness and training materials.
- Perform periodic safety audits and checks.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene testing for noise and air quality.
- Manage employee access to safety equipment and assist with the procurement of safety glasses and shoes.
- Gather GPS metrics to produce safe driving reports, track employee incentives, and assist with investigations.
- Assist in or chair safety committee meetings.
- Lead and participate in employee engagement tasks and events.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory laws.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and employment law.
- Ability to work across cross-functional groups.
- Experience with Adobe document creation is preferred.
