DoW SkillBridge Internship

About the role#

The DoW SkillBridge Internship is designed for individuals transitioning into civilian careers who are interested in engineering and project management. This role offers hands-on experience working alongside industry experts on major programs. Participants in this program continue to receive their compensation and benefits through the Department of War.

What you'll do#

• Collect, prepare, and maintain engineering data, including tests and drawings.
• Assist in preparing design documents and supporting calculations.
• Produce accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Support engineering activities under the guidance of senior staff.
• Engage with clients and participate in business development activities.
• Collaborate on proposal development and learn systems for risk management, project controls, and bidding.

What you'll need#

• Eligibility for the Department of War SkillBridge program.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, construction, or project management; or be currently pursuing such a degree.
• Prior experience in engineering, project management, or construction is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, technical, and project management skills.
• Excellent judgment, organizational ability, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and manage complex issues.
