    About the role#

    The Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer Co-op will support the integration of value-added options on CNC machine tool platforms. This role focuses on developing processes, assembly guides, and work instructions for equipment such as chip management systems, high-pressure coolant systems, and robotics interfaces. You will collaborate with the Production and Applications Engineering departments to ensure installations are effective, repeatable, and documented.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop and maintain procedures, assembly guides, and work instructions for electro-mechanical and controls systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and wiring harnesses.
    • Perform equipment installations, identify technical hurdles, and work with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
    • Drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives by developing Standard Work, conducting time studies, and applying 5S principles.
    • Create and update detailed drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
    • Support ISO 9001:2015 certification by conducting internal audits and leading continual improvement projects.
    • Analyze process data to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present findings to improve product quality and efficiency.
    • Consistently follow all safety procedures and report quality or safety issues immediately.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering.
    • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, easy-to-understand documentation.
    • Experience or coursework involving CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Strong analytical skills to interpret process data and manage KPIs.
