About the role#
The Data and Artificial Intelligence Student role is a 4-month term opportunity focused on delivering data-driven insights across the organization. You will work with the Enterprise Analytics and Data team to manage data analysis, business intelligence, and data engineering tasks. This position is ideal for analytical individuals looking for hands-on experience in turning data into actionable insights.
What you'll do#
- Engage internal stakeholders to curate high-quality, analytics-ready datasets.
- Assist in building and evaluating predictive models and statistical analyses.
- Participate in evaluating machine learning models and AI prototypes.
- Review AI use cases to ensure alignment with data governance and ethical principles.
- Assist in designing, testing, and refining generative AI agents for internal workflows.
- Build dynamic reports for business intelligence and develop dashboards to communicate findings.
- Participate in team meetings, ideation sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis, such as R or Python.
- Familiarity with SQL and data querying techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover trends and patterns.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort learning new digital tools and an openness to using AI-enabled technology.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, 4-month term position.
- The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of one day per week in the office for collaboration.
- Primary locations include St. Catharines and Etobicoke, Ontario.
