About the role#
The Ultrasound Sonographer Extern supports the Ultrasound Department by assisting sonographers with daily workflow activities. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience while contributing to patient care and maintaining professional standards within the department.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, clean, and stock ultrasound exam rooms between patient appointments.
- Assist sonographers with departmental workflow and report preparation.
- Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed sonographers and department leadership.
- Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, family members, visitors, and ancillary departments.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) program.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, which must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
