About the role#
Matic is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our finance team. This part-time, hands-on role provides the opportunity to work directly with real financial data and gain practical experience in accounting operations across various areas of the business.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile company credit card charges to the correct general ledger accounts and ensure proper coding.
- Gather receipts and supporting documentation for expenses, ensuring they are uploaded into the accounting system.
- Assist with the reconciliation of bank transactions by matching activity to internal records and flagging discrepancies.
- Support the reconciliation of carrier commission payments by verifying amounts received against expected statements.
- Assist with various ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid foundational knowledge of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, and the general ledger.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with comfort working with data and basic formulas.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

- Location: On-site in Columbus, Ohio.
- Schedule: Part-time, targeting 10-20 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
